dance tunes after this muse, two of which are included in this suite. Separate parts for pedal and lever harps are included with pedals and lever changes marked. Some fingerings. Cover art included. Duration: about 8 min.
Five Renaissance dances arranged for pedal or lever harp and horn in F:

Joys of Spring Waltz
by Adam Geibel arranged by D.K. Fackler
$ 6.50
Our
original instrumentation of
oboe, horn and harp was for a concert program where the audience was
not used to "formal, buttoned up concerts". During Geibel's lifetime,
parlor music was very popular and within that genre,
“waltz-songs” became a staple. The Joys of Spring
Waltz is
typical of this form and was published by Geibel in several versions,
piano solo, chamber ensemble, women’s trio and piano/vocal.
This version includes full score/harp (or piano), horn (with
substitute part for viola) and oboe (with substitute parts for flute,
violin, or Bb clarinet). Duration: 5'~
We'd love
to have a copy of your concert program when you perform our music.

Algues by
Bernard Andrés
Originally written for oboe(or flute) and (lever
or pedal) harp, this works
very well for horn and harp. It is not nearly as difficult as
Chants and might be a good choice for students or if you don't have a
lot of preparation time. This is always a crowd pleaser
when
we include it in our recitals. It should be available in many places.

Chants d'arriere-saison
for horn and harp by
Bernard Andrés This
is one of our "old friends. We've performed it many times and find that
it has great appeal for audiences, even those who think they don't like
contemporary music. Erica Goodmann and Soren Hermansson recorded this
on their CD, Horn and
Harp Odyssey.
This is currently ONLY available from Camac Harps in France.
Andrés
released this in originally in manuscript. If you have one of those
editions you have only the cello or horn part. It's been engraved and
is now available from Camac's online catalog. Be sure to download the free Andrés Notation Guide which
explains the special notations used.
